Car Audio Systems

As a music buff, I always want to have the best stereos and speakers around. That's easy enough to accomplish for my home, where I'm in complete control over everything I purchase. But it's obviously a little harder dealing with car audio systems since so much depends on what the factory gives me to work with in the first place. What I mean, of course, is that not all automobiles are capable of accommodating great car audio systems, so whenever I buy a new vehicle I first have to check to see what kind of standard equipment I'll be getting as well as how difficult it would be to swap out that equipment for some better stuff.

Don't get me wrong: you can definitely get some very nice car audio systems as part of the manufacturer's standard package; but that's only if you're buying a high-end vehicle to begin with. For example, the Acura TL has a killer sound system that will even play DVD Audio. But 40 grand for a car is a little ouit of my price range.

For the models in my price range, I pretty much know I'm not going to end up with a car audio system that will satisfy my standards. In fact, if it's at all possible, I try to order my vehicle without a radio or with just the most basic one that the manufacturer offers. After all, it doesn't make sense to pay extra for that when I know I'm going to be purchasing a whole new car audio system anyway.

I'm actually not that picky when it comes to car audio systems. I don't need to fill my trunk with speakers or anything like that. I just want the latest technology in a versatile and convenient package. For example, I never leave home without my iPod, so I would only consider purchasing car audio systems that have a dock and controls for this device.

I'm tired of wireless transmitters and cheap aftermarket kits that don't give me the sound quality that I want. There are plenty of car audio systems designed with iPod lovers in mind, so I usually don't have any trouble on that point. I also want a car audio system that accommodates satellite radio, that has good speakers, and that costs a reasonable amount of money -- especially since I have to pay for installation too. Plus, I'll only buy car audio systems from retailers that offer a solid warranty so that I can get replacement parts or a refund without any hassles.

Overall, I've had pretty good success buying car audio systems online, so I am going to continue shopping that way. I've found a few trustworthy sites that consistently offer the best prices around, and I always check out new sites that spring up to take advantage of any special deals they may have. By doing this, I'm able to have the best car audio systems at the lowest prices possible.
